On Wednesday at school, AK enjoyed receiving a henna tattoo from one of her teachers. The class was discussing the holiday the day before, Hari Raya, which celebrates the end of Ramadan. I was a bit surprised that she chose to particiapate, since she will never accept the popular rub on tattoos that other kids love. But, she did, and she loves her butterfly hand.
I'm praying that this is the only sort of tattoo she ever gets. If her reaction to annual vaccines is any indication, I think she's inherited her father's healthy dislike for needles. Maybe she'll stick with henna!
